What is a nootropic stack?

You may have heard the term “stack” when nootropics are being referred to. Many nootropics or nootropic ingredients complement each other and work together to build positive effects on the brain.

In line with this, many nootropic supplement manufacturers combine a number of ingredients to develop a broader purpose and higher performing product.

This combination of nootropics is called stack. Stacking different ingredients together to firm one.

Where to get a nootropic stack

Most of the store bought nootropic stacks are scientifically developed by supplement manufacturers. They have laboratories and specialists to develop the product.

An example of a Nootropics stack is the all natural product, Neuro Clarity. This is designed and developed to provide an optimum supplement for mental clarity, focus and memory.

A store bought stack is also designed to suit the masses and cannot be modified to suit you individually.

You can, however, be confident that you are getting the same product every time.

#2 Building your own stack

Building your own nootropic stack takes a little more knowledge, expertise and time. It may also be complicated if you are new to this field.

The benefit of building your own is that it is designed to suit you and it may also be cheaper for you than buying off the shelf.

If you know what you are doing, you can control exactly what is in the stack for own personal benefit and experiment with different products and ingredients and until you get the most effective combination.

It is recommended to start slow and low – get to know the ingredients and use a low dose until you are familiar with the effects.

What ingredients are in a nootropics stack?

A nootropics stack may consist of a combination of two or more ingredients.

A very simple stack would be Caffeine + L-Theanine. We are all familiar with caffeine and this works to boost mental energy.  L-Theanine, an amino acid found in green tea, works to improve focus.

To compare a more complex nootropic stack, we can look at a product called Neuro Clarity. This is an off the shelf product with numerous natural ingredients working together for improved mental clarity.

How can I keep up with my life?

I received a recommendation from a young colleague in my office on a way to help me be at the top of my game.

He suggested using Neuro Clarity. I looked in to the product and other Neuro Clarity reviews and I liked what I saw.

I liked that it was a natural supplement that there seemed to be very few people experiencing Neuro Clarity side effects.

The results

I took 2 capsules per day, in the morning with my breakfast. This seems to be the optimum approach.

I was very intent on looking for a change and I maybe saw some difference in the first week but nothing significant.

I took neuro clarity as needed, usually  during the week before work. I found this was enough for mw and I didn’t want to over use the supplement. Neuro supplement use will vary from person to person as we all have varying metabolism and body chemistry.

So after a week or so of using Neuro Clarity, i did notice that my stress levels came down.

Now, I’m not saying this product specificially reduced my stress but what I am saying is that it made it easier for me to cope with my daily work load and focus on what I needed to get done during the day.

I actually found that I have more energy and was getting more done with less effort. My mind seemed clearer or perhaps less confused, busy maybe. I really liked that feeling.

Amazon Neuro Clarity Reviews

In order to provide a balanced report, I reviewed many of the Amazon Neuro Clarity reviews on this product.

At the time of researching this product, there were over 5000 reviews on Amazon with an average of 4.3 stars out of 5. Nearly 90% of the reviews were 4 or 5 stars and only 6% had 1 or 2 star reviews.

Only 6% of the reviewers said it didn’t work. As with some medications, supplements may not work for everyone and it really depends on a case-by-case basis.

We are all very different from each other and have very individual brain and body chemistry.  What may work for one person may not work for another.

Perhaps it is the combination of ingredients that is less effective for one person over another.

Verified Reviewers

Most Neuro Clarity reviews were from verified amazon purchasers. This means that the people who wrote the review did actually purchase the product.

Negative Reviews

I noticed was that many of the reviewers were offered a free bottle of Neuro Clarity for their reviews.

One reviewer thought this was a bit dodgy.

My thoughts on this is that if a company offers a product in exchange for public open reviews, they must be pretty damn sure of their product.

Most of the reviews seem to be honest and, as you can see, some of them are negative, about 6%.

I am a believer that not all products will work for everyone, but at nearly 90% 4 or 5 star reviews I was prepared to give this one a try.

Positive Reviews

I have had a positive experience with Neuro Clarity. Here are some other positive reviews:

Goodbye Ritalin!

We needed something to keep us on track and this did the trick. It certainly cut down on the stress of not having short term memory loss problem anymore, so it’s a big plus. Thank you very much Nutrition Essentials” Mika

Nobody’s gonna beat me

Nootropics 101

So, what does the term NOOTROPIC mean?

Well a nootropic is a mind supplement or brain enhancer.

Sounds kind of interesting doesn’t it?

Nootropic supplements enhance cognitive function and act as a brain function booster so to speak.

Nootropics act to increase focus, memory, concentration, motivation, mood, mental clarity or just about anything that is related to brain function.

You may hear nootropics referred to as smart drugs, brain pills and cognitive supplements.

They work to support or alter the brains neurochemistry. Some nootropics work by altering neurotransmitters, while others stimulate neurogenesis.

So, that may sound a bit technical, but the general concept is that nootropics act to positively support change in the brain.

The history of nootropics?

Brain function boosters and neuro supplements go back hundred of years in Chinese and ayurvedic medicine.

It was termed nootropics in 1972 by a Romanian psychologist and chemist, Dr Corneliu Giurgea.

He was the first person to synthesise piracetam and realized that he had stumbled upon a supplement for mental clarity.

Piracetam has a remarkable ability to stimulate brain function, enhance concentration, mood, focus, and general mental sharpness.

Piracetam is regarded as the king of nootropics, because it is more effective than most of the other nootropic smart drugs that have been developed subsequently.

What does Piracetam do?

Now, to be a little technical again, it is believed that the power of Piracetam lies in its ability to ramp up NDMA and AMPA receptors.

In addition, the drug is also thought to be a vasodilator which widens the blood vessels to increase blood slow and stimulate blood circulation.

All of this means that it has a positive impact on brain function.

Characteristics of nootropics

As part of his research and wanting to details what constitutes a nootropic, Dr Corneliu Giurgea stated that nootropic drugs should have the following characteristics:

  1. They should enhance learning and memory.
  2. They should enhance the resistance of learned behaviors/memories to conditions which tend to disrupt them (e.g.electroconvulsive shock, hypoxia).
  3. They should protect the brain against various physical or chemical injuries (e.g. barbiturates, scopalamine).
  4. They should increase the efficacy of the tonic cortical/subcortical control mechanisms.
  5. They should lack the usual pharmacology of other psychotropic drugs (e.g. sedation, motor stimulation) and possess very few side effects and extremely low toxicity.

Who uses nootropics?

The demographic using brain enhancers tends to be somewhat varied for very specific reasons. Here are three groups of people that are finding brain enhancers extremely beneficial:

#1 The ageing population

Maintaining good mental clarity and health is one of the most important factors to ensure long-term quality of life.

It is important to the older population to prevent cognitive decline and the potential onset of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Ways in which older people are preventing cognitive decline includes herbal remedies, physical activity and mental exercises.

Nootropics however, are now being used in ever increasing numbers to ensure on going mental clarity in old age.

#2 Students

College students have always been looking for ways to help with studying and exam taking.

They can be extremely powerful for long-term growth of brain power, as well as short-term focus and content mastery.

It is for this reason that nootropics are a popular studying aid that is now being widely used.

# High pressure jobs

For those who work in buys or high pressure jobs, it is found that they can optimise their performance by taking these brain function boosters by becoming more motivated, productive and successful in your daily work.

Nootropics is said to give you the edge. It is found to provide better memory, more mental clarity and focus and enhanced problem-solving abilities.

Are nootropics safe to use?

Drug that act to increase brain function are incredibly popular particularly for older generation wanting to guard against cognitive decline.

So, how do we satisfy ourselves that these smart drugs are safe before we start taking them.

Piracetam has been given the thumbs up and claims to be safe from significant side effects.

Natural plants and herbs with brain enhancing properties are very popular for those not wanting to use synthetic properties. These include ingredients like Bacopa Monnieri, Ginkgo Biloba, Vinpocetine and many more.
